Casserole with penne and ham strips
A fun twist on the traditional macaroni. The cheddar cheese gives the top of the penne casserole a crispy layer, adding a nice bite.
Make this creamy take on traditional mac and cheese: a creamy penne casserole with ham strips. For a vegetarian version, omit the ham strips and mix cherry tomatoes into the pasta.
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 180°C and remove the butter from the refrigerator to allow it to come to room temperature.
Peel and finely chop the garlic. Peel the onion and cut it into 1 cm pieces.
Bring a pan of water to a boil and cook the penne for 2 minutes less than the package directions. Then drain.
Combine the penne with the garlic, onion, Parmesan, ham strips, butter, salt, and pepper. Then spread the mixture in a baking dish.
Mix World Spice Meal - Mac & Cheese with the whipped cream and spread this over the penne.
Finally, sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the pasta and place the baking dish in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown. Serve the creamy penne in the baking dish.
Variatietip
Vervang de beenhamreepjes door cherrytomaten voor een vegetarische optie. Halveer de cherrytomaten en meng deze dan net zoals de beenhamreepjes met de penne.
