Your challenges
As a Retail Category Developer, you are responsible for developing category plans and advising both internal colleagues and clients. You combine data, market knowledge, and commercial insights to further grow the category. Your main activities include:
Analyzing shopper, consumer, and sales data and translating this into commercial growth opportunities.
Advising clients such as Jumbo on developments within the herbs and spices category.
Acting as a content consultant for sales, product management, and marketing.
Supporting account managers with strong, fact-based trade stories for client meetings.
Monitoring competitors, market developments, and trends within retail.
Setting up and supervising research trajectories within category development.
Working with different data sources and systems, such as 7EVEN, Circana, Nielsen and Nielsen Spaceman.
Presenting insights and advice to clients and internal stakeholders.
Working with the team to build an even stronger category approach in retail.
