We are looking for
a QA Officer

(Fulltime 37.5 hours)

At Verstegen, you make quality visible on the factory floor. As a QA Officer, you ensure that our quality systems not only work on paper, but also in practice. You translate HACCP, BRC, and IFS into practical agreements, guide audits, and help production to better safeguard processes. You are an active employee who goes into the factory, asks questions, and initiates improvements. Does this combination of content and practice appeal to you? Then we'd love to talk to you further.

About the team:

You will join the FSQ team. Within this team, you will collaborate with colleagues from various sub-teams: PQA, Specification, Risk Assessment, VA, and QC. You will become part of a team focused on process quality (PQA): how processes actually run on the floor and how they align with our standards, procedures, and manuals.

You will work closely with operations. One day you might be assisting with an audit or validation, the next day you might be standing next to a machine to understand what is happening. This translation between system and practice is precisely what makes your role important.

Your challenges

You make quality a daily practice. With HACCP, prerequisite programs, BRC, and IFS as a basis, you safeguard processes, follow up on deviations, and ensure that improvements are not just conceived but also implemented.

Who are you?

You combine QA knowledge with a practical approach. You understand the rationale behind standards and procedures, but also know how important it is that agreements work on the shop floor. You easily connect with colleagues and dare to ask probing questions.

● Higher professional education (HBO) work and thinking level, for example in Food Technology or Food Safety.
● Minimum 5 years of experience in quality within a food or process environment.
● Knowledge of HACCP, BRC, IFS Halal, Kosher, Skal, and RSPO.
● Experience with (internal) audits, validations, deviations, and improvement actions.
● Practical mindset: you enjoy being visible in the factory.
● You easily switch between operator, QA/QC, and management.
● Good command of the Dutch and English languages.
● Knowledge of Manual Master (Trevally) is a plus.
● Full-time availability and willingness to work primarily on-site in Rotterdam.
