The week of March 4th through 10th is dedicated to National Week Without Meat and Dairy . Verstegen is once again a partner this year. Together, we're moving toward a sustainable future, one in which we make a positive impact on animals, people, and the environment. During National Week Without Meat and Dairy, we'll reduce dairy, meat, and greenhouse gases.

Why join?

Eating more days without meat, fish, and dairy is a small effort for us, but it has a major positive impact on animals, people, and the environment. Some statistics at a glance: did you know that by not eating or drinking dairy during this week, you save 2.4 kilos of dairy per person? And that by not eating meat and dairy for one week, you save 14.6 kg of CO2 equivalents, or greenhouse gases? These emissions would otherwise have been mainly caused by the production of animal feed and by the (dairy) farming sector itself. 14.6 kg of CO2 equivalents is equivalent to driving about 76 kilometers in an average car. And did you know that the average adult Dutch person eats 108 grams of meat per day? This consists of about 29 grams of red meat. By not eating meat, 756 grams of animal meat is saved per person during the National Week Without Meat and Dairy.
