A fun twist on the standard sushi roll: a burrito sushi roll! This dish is a must-try for any sushi lover. The combination of furikake seasoning and sriracha mayonnaise adds a touch of flavor. Not a fan of fish? Substitute the salmon with steak cubes and briefly sear them with soy sauce and furikake.
Preparation
Cut the cucumber into 4 cm strips. Peel the avocados and cut them into 0.5 cm slices.
Slice the salmon fillet lengthwise. Mix the soy sauce and half of the World Spice Blend - Furikake with the salmon and marinate for 10 minutes in the refrigerator.
Meanwhile, bring a pan of water to a boil and cook the sushi rice according to the package directions. Mix the rice with the sushi vinegar. Spread it out on a large baking tray or baking sheet lined with parchment paper, creating a 1 cm thick layer of sushi rice. Let cool.
Cut the sushi rice into 8 squares. Place one square in the center of a nori sheet. Top with ¼ of the julienned carrot, ¼ of the avocado, ¼ of the cucumber, and ¼ of the marinated salmon. Place another piece of sushi rice on top and fold the corners of the nori sheet together to form a parcel. Repeat this until all the nori sheets are used. Cut the burrito sushi roll in half.
Garnish the sushi rolls with the remaining World Spice Blend - Furikake and serve with the sriracha mayonnaise.
