This braided meatloaf is a real eye-catcher on the dinner table. A delicious, unique, and easy-to-make ground meat recipe.
This recipe makes about 15 slices of meatloaf.

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Cut the bell pepper into small 1 x 1 cm cubes.

Beat 1 egg in a bowl. Mix the ground meat in a bowl with the packet of Mix for Ground Meat - Garden Herbs. Add half the egg and the diced bell pepper, knead the ground meat well, and form it into a large ball.

On a cutting board, arrange the bacon slices horizontally, one below the other. Place the large ball of ground meat in the center of the bacon and spread it evenly across the center. Fold the bacon around the ground meat.

Roll out the puff pastry. Place the bacon-covered meatloaf in the center of the pastry. Using a small knife, make nine slits in the sides of the pastry, extending down to the meatloaf. Each of the 10 puff pastry strips should be about 1 1/2 inches thick.

Braid the top strip of puff pastry on both sides towards the ground meat, diagonally across the meatloaf. Repeat for all the puff pastry strips. Fold the top and bottom towards the ground meat.

Place the braided meatloaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush it with the remaining beaten egg. Bake in a preheated oven for about 40 to 45 minutes.
