Rosemary

Rosemary is recognizable by its woody shrub, which typically grows among dry Mediterranean scrub. Rosemary is cultivated worldwide. The region where this herb is grown determines its color, aroma, and flavor. The highest quality rosemary originates from Morocco. Of course, Verstegen's rosemary also comes from there, because at Verstegen, the highest quality is paramount.

OUR PICOLIER WILL TELL YOU MORE!

Rosemary grows as a perennial plant, reaching heights of 50 to 150 centimeters. It consists of multiple stems that are thick, woody, and dark greenish-brown in color. The leaves, which resemble pine needles, grow directly from these stems and are 4 cm long and 4 mm wide.

Scent and taste of rosemary

Depending on the country of origin, the leaves are green or grayish. Rosemary's scent is intense and strongly aromatic, reminiscent of pine, camphor, and eucalyptus, which is characteristic of rosemary. Rosemary's flavor is highly aromatic and has a bitter, sharp taste, also characteristic of this herb. When the plant is fully grown, it reaches its peak quality.
