Spicy Mac and Cheese
Mac & cheese with a spicy twist.
Spicy Mac and Cheese, a pasta dish where macaroni is mixed with a cheese sauce and topped with grated cheese in the oven. This spicy mac and cheese is a twist on the classic dish and perfect for comfort food.
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Finely chop the onion and garlic. Grease a baking dish with 25 grams of butter.
Cook the macaroni for 2 minutes less than the instructions on the package and rinse the cooked macaroni with warm water.
Melt the butter in a saucepan and sauté the onion and garlic. Reduce the heat to low. Add the flour and stir constantly until all the flour is incorporated. Once all the flour has been absorbed by the butter, it will form a ball.
Then gradually add the cold milk. Stir constantly until the sauce forms again and comes to a boil. Add 75 grams of the grated mozzarella and 75 grams of the grated semi-mature cheese and let it dissolve into the sauce. Turn off the heat.
Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce. Stir in the World Spice Meal - Mac & Cheese.
Fill a greased baking dish with the mixture and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake the mac & cheese in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and a crust has formed. Serve the mac & cheese immediately.
