We are looking for a
Production Team Leader (2-shift)
(Full-time 37.5 hours)
As Production Team Leader at Verstegen, you ensure that our production runs safely, efficiently, and according to schedule every day. You lead a team of approximately 30 to 35 employees and are the primary point of contact on the shop floor for everything related to production, quality, and team development.
You are visible on the department, maintain an overview, and intervene when necessary. At the same time, you look beyond the present day. You help employees develop into all-round operators, build a strong team, and ensure that processes improve a little every day.
You are given a lot of responsibility and the freedom to make your own decisions. If something doesn't go as planned, you resolve it yourself as much as possible. Only when necessary do you consult with the Production Manager.
About the department:
You will become team leader of our Consumer Packaging department. This is where the herbs and spices that consumers encounter daily in supermarkets are packaged. Think of glass spice jars, sachets, and spices for meal kits.
The department is growing from three to four team leaders. This gives each team leader a more manageable span of control of approximately 30 to 35 employees. You will work closely with the other team leaders, lead operators, and the production manager.
You will work in a two-shift system:
● Morning shift: 05:30 - 14:00
● Afternoon shift: 13:30 - 22:00
What are you going to do?
As a team leader, you are responsible for the daily management of your department. You combine operational leadership with coaching and process improvement. Your duties include:

Managing the lead operators, who are your eyes and ears on the shop floor.

Monitoring of safety, quality,
output, and delivery reliability.

Resolving disruptions and
malfunctions within the production process.
5.
Liaising with production planning,
QA, Technical Department, HR and other departments.
6.
Managing time registration,
leave planning, absenteeism guidance and other HR-related activities.
7.
Contributing to improvements
within production and Continuous Improvement.
8.
Developing employees into
versatile all-round operators.
9.
Contributing to a pleasant
working atmosphere where people can continue to develop.
Who are you?
You are a coaching leader who easily switches between the shop floor and the office. You love dynamism, remain calm when plans change, and know how to get people on board with changes.
In addition, we ask for:
● Minimum MBO-4 (vocational education) work and thinking level.
● Several years of experience as a leader within a production environment.
● Experience in managing, coaching, and developing employees.
● A drive to make processes smarter and more efficient.
● Strong communication skills and a strong personality.
● Experience with or affinity for Continuous Improvement is a definite plus.
