Halloumi burger with Ras el Hanout wedges

A delicious vegetarian burger with grilled halloumi, grilled bell pepper, and avocado mayonnaise. Delicious with the fried Ras el Hanout wedges.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit). Wash the potatoes and cut them into long, thin wedges. Pat the wedges dry thoroughly. Toss the wedges in a bowl with the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of World Spice Blend - Ras el Hanout. Place the wedges on a baking sheet and roast in the oven for 30 to 35 minutes, turning halfway through. Sprinkle with sea salt to taste after cooking.

About 15 minutes before the end of the baking time, cut the bell peppers in half lengthwise, remove the seeds, and halve them widthwise. Halve the halloumi cheese lengthwise. Pit the avocado and mash it. Mix the avocado with the mayonnaise and lime juice.

Heat the grill pan. Combine the olive oil with 2 teaspoons of World Spice Blend - Ras el Hanout and sea salt to taste, if desired. Marinate the halloumi and sweet pointed pepper. Grill the sweet pointed peppers in the pan. Then grill the halloumi for about 1 minute on each side.

Cut the (hamburger) buns in half and spread with the avocado mayonnaise. Divide the arugula, grilled sweet pointed peppers, and halloumi over the burgers. Serve with the crispy Ras el Hanout wedges.

Variatietip

Maak ook eens zelf een burger van kipgehakt voor een zoutarme burger (in samenwerking met de Nierstichting). Meng hiervoor 2 el olijfolie met 2 tl World Spice Blend - Ras el Hanout en Zwarte peper naar smaak. Marineer het gehakt met dit mengsel, verdeel in 4 gelijke delen en vorm burgers.
