Your challenges:

At Verstegen, you will be responsible for a technical organization comprising breakdown maintenance, preventive maintenance, engineering, and facility management.The foundations are strong, and there is a great deal of knowledge and loyalty within the team. At the same time, there is a significant challenge regarding professionalization, maintenance strategy, investment projects, and the technical roadmap.While we often work reactively now, we aim to grow into an organization that looks ahead, plans, and makes structural improvements.Consider questions such as:● How can we organize preventive maintenance more intelligently?● Which machines or lines need to be replaced in the coming years?● How can we further automate within our factories?● How do we ensure that investment projects are approached more professionally?● How do we prepare Verstegen technically for further growth?

What are you going to do?

You are responsible for the complete technical organization of both factories in Rotterdam. In this role, you directly manage multiple team leaders and specialists in maintenance, engineering, and facility management. You interact daily with production, supply chain, QA, operations, and management. You are not only a manager but also a sparring partner and driving force. Your responsibilities include:


What are you bringing?

We are not looking for a manager who only directs from the office. We are looking for someone who is strategically strong, but also understands how a factory works. Someone who can discuss technical matters with mechanics and present an investment plan to management. You don't have to solve every malfunction yourself, but you do understand the dynamics of a technical service department in a production environment.

● Bachelor's or Master's degree level of working and thinking in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics or industrial automation.
● Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role within the production or process industry.
● Experience with maintenance management and technical investment projects.
● Preferably experience within food, FMCG or the process industry.
● Knowledge of maintenance strategies, automation and asset management.
● Experience with project management and CAPEX processes.
● Strong communication skills at various levels.
● Experience with coaching technical teams.
