We are looking for
an OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE PROJECT LEAD

(Fulltime 37.5 hours)

At Verstegen, there is a great opportunity to work smarter, more efficiently, and better. Do you see where processes can be improved? And do you get energized by actually implementing improvements? Then this is a role where you can make an immediate impact.

At Verstegen, we are building a team of Operational Excellence specialists. Not a traditional management layer, but a team that initiates, leads, and most importantly, delivers results. As an Operational Excellence Project Lead, you will be a crucial link in this. You will work directly with the COO and will have the freedom to identify and implement improvement opportunities throughout the entire organization.

Your role in brief:

You identify areas for improvement within our supply chain and ensure these improvements are actually implemented.

From production to logistics, you pinpoint inefficiencies, sources of waste, and areas where costs are unnecessarily high. You then tackle these issues project-based and ensure lasting results.

What are you going to do?

You work on projects that directly impact our operations. No theoretical exercises, but concrete improvements that you realize together with the organization. You work closely with production, technical service, supply chain, and other departments. The department managers are your sparring partners and sponsors, while you lead the project.

What are you bringing?

You are someone who not only analyzes but, above all, takes action. You know how to engage people, even without formal hierarchy, and you feel at home in a production environment.

● Higher professional education (HBO) level of working and thinking (e.g., Industrial Engineering and Management / Industrial Engineering).
● Extensive experience in operations or production.
● Preferably experience in the food industry.
● Experience with Lean, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) and/or TPM.
● Proven experience with improvement projects and concrete results.
● Strong in stakeholder management and building support.
● Hands-on, pragmatic, and results-oriented.

You thrive in a down-to-earth, Rotterdam work environment where things may sometimes be less "perfectly organized" than in large multinationals, but where there is precisely a lot to improve because of that.
