Apple cinnamon galette with cardamom
A delicious galette with apple, cinnamon, cardamom, and raisins. Delicious with a scoop of ice cream for dessert or as a sweet treat.
The aroma of freshly baked dough and warm spices filling your home—who wouldn't want that? Filled with juicy apples, coated in cardamom and raisins. Serve lukewarm for the ultimate indulgence.
Preparation
In a food processor, combine the flour, granulated sugar, and unsalted butter until crumbly. Add the cold water and, if using, the apple cider vinegar, and process until a dough ball forms. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 2 to 3 hours.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Peel the apples, remove the cores, and thinly slice them. Combine the apple pieces with the raisins, Verstegen cinnamon, Verstegen cardamom, and lemon juice in a bowl.
Dust the work surface with flour. Roll out the dough into a large circle, about 0.5 cm thick. Then place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Spread the apple-cinnamon-cardamom mixture over the center of the dough and fold the edges slightly over the filling. Beat the egg, brush the edges with it, and sprinkle with the light brown caster sugar.
Bake the apple-cinnamon galette in a preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes. Remove from the oven after baking and let it cool on a wire rack before serving.

Probeer ook eens andere toppings zoals rood zomerfruit of rabarber. Een galette kun je ook hartig serveren met bijvoorbeeld paddenstoelen, paprika en gehakt.
