Cinnamon cake with orange frosting
A perfect dessert to end a delicious dinner!
A delicious and light cinnamon cake that's incredibly easy to make. The cinnamon and orange flavors in the frosting create a delightful wintery cake. A perfect dessert to round off a delicious dinner, paired with a cup of coffee or tea.
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F). Remove the butter from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature.
Cream the butter, brown sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl with a hand mixer. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Once the mixture is smooth, add the flour, baking powder, and 4 teaspoons of cinnamon. Mix until smooth.
Line a cake tin with baking paper and pour in the batter. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool.
Grate the zest (peel) of the orange and lime. For the frosting, combine the cream cheese with the powdered sugar, the juice of half the orange, ¾ of the orange zest, and the lime zest. Spread the frosting over the top of the cake and top with the remaining orange zest and cinnamon.
