Homemade applesauce with cinnamon
How delicious: DIY applesauce, quick and healthy!
This quick and healthy applesauce is perfect for a simple weeknight meal. You can make it from scratch in just 15 minutes. Store the applesauce in a sealed jar in the refrigerator. It will keep for up to two weeks.
Preparation
Peel the apples, remove the core, and cut into 2 cm cubes. Halve the lemon and juice the juice.
Heat the butter in a pan and sauté the apples with the ground cinnamon and star anise for 4 minutes. Deglaze the apples with the water and lemon juice.
Simmer over low heat for 20 minutes until the apples are tender. Remove the star anise from the applesauce and briefly puree the applesauce with an immersion blender until the apple chunks are still visible.
Place the applesauce in an airtight container, such as a mason jar.
Variatietip
Voeg wanneer de appelmoes niet suikervrij hoeft te zijn wat suiker toe om het geheel zoeter te maken. Voeg 70 g suiker toe samen met de Kaneel (gemalen).
