Making your own mustard
Super easy to prepare and can even be stored for a year!
We often buy mustard at the supermarket, but this homemade mustard recipe is so delicious you'll never go back to the store for it. Super easy to make and it even keeps for a year!
Preparation
Coarsely grind the mustard seeds with a mortar and pestle, food processor, or spice grinder. Add them to a bowl along with the ground mustard seeds, salt, turmeric, honey, and water. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes.
Add the vinegar and stir well again. Pour into a (glass) jar and refrigerate for at least 12 hours to thicken. Your mustard will keep for up to a year in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
Variatietip
Houd je van grove mosterd? Maal het mosterdzaad dan niet. Houd je van fijne mosterd? Maal de mosterd dan fijner of vervang het mosterdzaad voor gemalen mosterd.
