Farmers' gingerbread
Delicious, light, spiced farmer's gingerbread.
This farmhouse spice cake gets a unique twist thanks to all the delicious spices added. This makes it more than just a cake, it's a spice cake! With this recipe, you can offer your guests a delicious slice of cake. Enjoy it with a cup of tea or coffee.
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 175°C.
Grease the cake tin or line it with a sheet of baking paper.
Cream the butter, sugar and pinch of salt together for about 5 minutes using a food processor or hand mixer.
Add the eggs one by one.
Mix in the self-raising flour and apple syrup until smooth. Also add the cinnamon (ground), ginger (ground), cardamom (ground), mace (ground), cloves (ground), coriander seed (ground), and nutmeg (ground) and mix this into the batter.
Divide the batter over the baking tin and bake the gingerbread for about 55-65 minutes until golden brown (both above and below heat).
Then let the gingerbread cool and cut it into slices.
Tip:
You can easily check if the cake is done by inserting a skewer. If it comes out clean, your cake is done. If the skewer isn't clean, extend the baking time by 5 to 10 minutes and then try again.

- 200 g zelfrijzend bakmeel
- 200 g roomboter (ongezouten - kamertemperatuur)
- 200 g suiker
- 4 eieren
- 1 el appelstroop
- 4 tl Kaneel (gemalen)
- 2 tl Gember (gemalen)
- 1½ tl Kardemom (gemalen)
- 1 tl Foelie (gemalen)
- 1 tl Kruidnagel (gemalen)
- ½ tl Korianderzaad (gemalen)
- ½ tl Nootmuskaat (gemalen)
- snuf zout
